I have a 55amp 24 v powermax converter.

Basically the issue is I plug it into the genny and do not get any more life out of my troller?

I ran it all night the other night and the troller lasted the same as it does with nothing.

What I have done is gotten two strands of big amp wire, and put lugs on the end. Then screwed the other end into the lugs on the converter.

From there I hooked it up to the batteries. I hooked it up on the same terminals as the JUMPER. Does this make a difference? Also I am getting some kind of power, because I touched them together on accident and they sparked. It is also not grounded, but has a ground lug on the converter.

Any ideas would be super helpful.

Make sure the fuse on the converter isn't bad. Also make sure you don't have a bad battery pulling it down. Then take loose the converter and check it with a volt meter for the 24v out.

If you hit them together and they sparked you blew the fuses in the back of it and it wont put out till you put new ones in .
X2...

Plus when the converter is working you will hear your genny amp up when you hit your troller

Pretty sure there's no such critter as a 24v 55a converter... Possibly have a 12v 55a converter wired in 24v, which would do exactly what you are describing even if everything was functioning properly. If you actually have a 24v 50a converter, something isn't right and you're going to need a meter to check. A cheapo from Lowes is like $25 and will do everything you need. something every boat owner should have anyway.
Pictures are always helpful...

It is a 24v 50 amp converter too. Is the fact that I had it hooked up on the jumpers instead of the same as the trolling motor possibly my problem?
Front/Back, there's only one set of fuses.
Gbollom will be along shortly. hooking to jumper probably fried your converter if I was guessing. that means you had 24v running THROUGH the converter while loaded.

ah yes! lol

if it is a 24 volt convertor hook it to the same post as the troller that's how you get 24 hooking it to the jumper you basically just hooked the convertor to its self sure the fuses are fried too.
