oh yeah, every couple years we might have a sighting around by us in east central wisconsin. There's a lot of sightings in northern wisconsin.

Thats crazy your buddy had an encounter with one in such a populated area in broad day light. I had heard rumors of them out there but heard they where more nocturnal and liked to try and stalk thier prey in less populated low lit areas!

I don't have photographic evidence but last spring my buddy got attacked by one. He tried talking real calmly so he could back away but that thing latched onto his face before we knew what hit him. It was a horrifying ordeal and is a mental picture that frankly I don't know if I'll ever get it out of my mind.
