A while ago we were discussing custom built LEDs and I mentioned we were building 100W Cool White LEDs. These are a single 100W chip, not dual 50s and they are the size of 500W Halos. At the time of the discussion, I posted some pics of the lights running but hadn't had them on the water yet. I had them on the water for the first time at the US Open and I can say I was extremely pleased with how they worked. I have a video in 10' of water and you can see the bottom without issue, we were in 16 - 18' of water and I could still see bottom, this was on Bull Shoals in clear water. We then moved to Table Rock and were seeing fish between 6 - 8 feet deep in what I would consider stained water. In my opinion, they worked better than my previous 500W Halo setup. I previously had 8 500W Halos, I am currently running 10 100W LEDs. They broadcast of light shined out farther than I would want to shoot at a big fish and the penetration was excellent. The other thing I really liked about them was the fish seemed to stand out more than with my Halos, we shot 3 fish I believe we would have never seen with the Halos, they keep more of their natural color.
Just wanted to give those interested an update. I will try and figure out how to post one of the videos if I get time.
