I am looking for guys who weld aluminum hulls. I did a couple searches on Google and didn't really turn anything up. You guys know of any and if so, do they have websites with pricing and pictures. I am thinking it would be a better option to just have one built rather than mess with dealers and the endless crap of buying one that way.

Thanks...kinda looking around right now. I need to be able to throw a surface drive on one. Looked into jet drive, but ith ink there is too much of a horsepower loss and in the end it seems to be about the same price.

since your looking for a surface drive type boat... check out Widow Maker... he doesn't have a site but he comes in way under what any of the Mud Motor Boat builders can do for ya... I wanted a true Surface drive type boat and after looking at Gator Trax - Go Devil - Excell - Pro Drive - Beaver Tail - Phrowler - Geaux Custom - Gator Tail - Brother Breaux and talking with most of these guys about what I want and what I needed the sticker cost was okay on some but the shipping was crazy.... then I found Chuck in Utah and talked with him... his price was way under the others in what I wanted and I'm going to save some major Coin because its only a few hundred miles for me to drive... Just an Idea...

We have some of the best Jet Boat (white water) builders in the whole world right here in Idaho and talking with these guys they had all kinds of crazy Ideas of how to build me a boat... they just wouldn't listen to me... so maybe if you could find a local boat build in your area and tell them how a Surface drive boat should be you might score big time... might even be able to save some money by helping them with the work if they would let ya...

sportsman fabrication in south lousiana builds some sweet mud boats...

In my opinion, you cant beat the south La. style of boat building. Those guys knows what it takes to make boats bullet proof.

this is true... the boys in LA know how to build boats and have to make them Bullet Proof to run thru Stump Fields and know they are making the gear heads really put some work into Surface Drive Motors so they can push these pigs up on plain...

what ever you do make sure they build with .125 alum, and have runners going from the stern to bow... you do not want runners going side to side like you see on most mass produced boats and I have also seen on Sportsmans Fabrication... and .100 might cut it on thickness... Just depends on your area... you don't want hooking on these flat bottom boats...
