here are some pictures of a material i found and used. It is called step tread and it comes in different widths and 21ft long sticks. I used 12 inch wide and it worked great it doesnt require as much bracing beacause it has its own you can see it from the end shot on my little fan step sure makes working on the fan easier. my deck is 8x8 on my 2072 and the angle pieces on the back were just the pieces from the front i cut off. you can put an end cap on it like i did and it it makes it a little stronger and neater looking.

 

where did you find this stuff and about how much for each foot

 

some of mine. Boats not done yet, 8' deck raised 12". Will have 6 400 hps.

 

How do you like the expanded metal floor? I am considering expanded metal or something like the step tread. Does the expanded metal give between the bracing or is it pretty stable. If I use the expanded metal I would like to put some type of mat down for comfort.

Was there any specific reason that you mounted the lights on top instead of the underside of the deck? I am getting to build mine this coming week.

The place i got it from called it step tread i believe it comes in 10 or 12 inch wide and 21 ft long. i dont remember the price sorry. my local welding/machine shop carries it in stock.

 

Had mine both ways elevated, and flush currently it's flush. I liked the elevated deck for Clearwater day shooting but decided to go flush for ease. By that I mean bigger fish don't require you to get off the deck to land, easier for kids and hell even my fat ass to get up on it, easier to drive( now I can sit down) and it helped brace the boat a bunch. I also bought a surface drive boat and spend more time in it during the day so he big boat is being used mostly night trips now. Both have their advantage the flush just worked out better for the situation now

I went the cheaper rout, you can shoot 2 guys off the deck and still stable. I love it!

 

Bleacher deck is 2" tall. This looks to be about 1" tall. Wish I knew where to get that stuff from.
