Seen a boat the other day that really made me battle wether or not i wanted to go ahead and deck my boat over or not. Looks like I might be finally getting sometime to work on the ol' gal here in a few weeks and its time for me to make a decision. So guys I want to hear your opinions on this. Give me yays or nays and why. I know the deck over will be great for pleasure fishing. I was thinking of having something like Alan where a middle door might be removable for tournament time to allow more room for fish. When Ty sees it fit he can post some pics of his new BEAUTY on here....its the direction I think im wanting to head in. Thanks guys...

I really liked the Removable deal DC had on his old hull. Lots'a room for rec fishing, then take it off for all the buckets for tournaments.

A non removable deck over would not be the best for tournaments in my opinion, and with a built in fish pan, you would have to make sure it was cleaned spotless everytime, otherwise you end up with that typical "rotten fish" odor pouring out of your hull... LOL

Depends on what you mean by deck over. The Florida airboat deck over boats have a top deck from bow to stern (from front to back) and everything is mounted on top of that. I thought they were full of foam but not sure about that. Cant remember seeing any of them with hatches either but I am sure some people do. DC's boat while a very nice big boat is not a true deck over boat because the back is open so the prop can dip below the transom so everything can be mounted lower. I do LOVE a giant deck on an airboat. Very comfortable to fish from.
