I would like to practice shooting my bowfishing rig and im wondering if it will be worth it. Will shooting into a target help with my shots or do I need to shoot at underwater targets?

Do you guys practice shooting?

Love to practice I shoot off the front porch once or twice a week/ usually at spots in the snow, frozen dog turds and such
Also I shoot the hunting bow probably the same amount I have an affliction Cur

Find a range or club that uses Rinehart 3D's and see about getting their old inserts. I got 1/2 dozen spread out off the deck to shoot at and retrieve just like a big fish, with an old shaft that the barbs are broke off.

For me shooting at something that isn't a live fish is completely different like most I shoot instinctive and when I shoot a fish to me it's just a "reaction" when it not a live fish it doesn't work that way it seems but I practice for something to do it probably helps accuracy in some way but I shoot as much draw weight as I can comfortably shoot for our armor plated carp so it helps me with that

I'll throw down a few pencils and start breaking them in half once in awhile. It will help but as far as judging underwater shots there's nothing you can do but shoot fish. Sure you could sink some targets but it's not the same like when shooting fish st different distances depths aND water clarity

Pencils? Cheater!

I use strands of spaghetti. Usually submerged.

I agree though, there's nothing better than shooting actual fishies to make you better.
