I guess I have always used a safety slide while most of my buddies just tie to rear. Does anyone use them or and I just being to worried about arrow snapping back? And why does muzzy say right on description on muzzy reel that they don't suggest use of safety slides with reel?

I shoot slides with a spinner. I'm faster with a slide.

When I tie to the back my line always gets caught on the reel, rest, bow...
When you release with a slide, only the arrow touches the rest; When you release tied to the back, the line going through the hole could hit the rest affecting arrlow flight. I know its probably not much, if any, but I always thought about it and knew it was there.
As far as blowing through fish, turn your bow down!
And my arrow falls off if I forget to push the button with slides and rod...

I tie it to the back. When i used a retriever i used a slide but since i got my muzzy i just tie it to the back. Ive never had a snapback with tieing it to the back and like someone said earlier if u tie it to the back and dont push the button it will just fall off the string

I use to use slides till this year every slide I had broke except for one the screw gets loose on the bump stop after awhile and the arrows are cheaper without slides the cheaper arrows alone should seal the deal on that one if ur shooting spinners
