So I would like to replace my 3500w champion genny with the 2000w inverter generator but I think I'll put it too much under load. I'm running two powermax 55's and 10 50w LED lights 120v. Any thoughts? Just thought it would be nice to be a little quieter and take up less space on the boat.

Pm 55's pull 780w a piece. That's 1560w plus 500w of lights puts you at 2060w. Even if you could somehow push everything you wouldn't want to. You could probably get by with a champion 3100w inverter tho. I'd need to check the specs on that model.

As long as you don't run the batts completely dead but you shouldn't if your running 120v leds. Start with you batts hot you will be good with a Yamaha

Kinda... All the Powermax come on at max load for the first 15min regardless of battery charge. So you can, just start converters 15min before you turn lights on.

I'm running the same set up with 2 more lights than you. You can get away with it if you start with the batteries charged and turn on the converters 15 mins before the lights. I just ponied up and bought a 2nd one. They stack so it really doesn't take up more room and I can run them on econo mode and they basically idle all night. Super quiet.

Thanks maybe I'll do that. Where did you find the cheapest place for your champion 2000's?

I'm using a 70lb Minnesota kota maxxum and usually only run it on 1 or 2 speed. After the 15 MIN span is up where the powermax is on full power, does anyone have a rough estimate of what each one's pulls when its not strained much at all to keep up after the initial 15 MIN? I guess I'm just curious what it drops down to after its at 750 or 780 for a bit

I found the first one on sale online at Blaine's farm and fleet for $459. The sale was no longer available when I got the 2nd but I found it on sale at rural king online for $499.

It really just depends who has sales going on, just search champion 2000 watt inverter on Google and compare prices. My buddy bought one last week and paid $550, so it really just depends who has it on sale when you're looking to buy.
