I just got 6 150s from econolight. Was just going to use aluminum to make the brackets. What size stock should I use? And where on the light should the bracket be mounted? Center on the sides or offset the weight to make them balanced?

I punched holes in the center of the sides when I had 150's. Use large fender washers between the bracket and the light, and the nut and the light to distribute the pressure and keep the housings from cracking. Those lights are designed for sitting still and are fairly brittle.
I drilled holes on each side of mine as well and used rubber gromets that go through the holes to eliminate vibration. I made U shaped brackets and used bigger rubber gromets between the bracket and my light rails for vibration too. I leave my bulbs in the lights si the rubber gromets help the bulbs not break too.
Oh I like the rubber grommet idea! What size stock did you make the u bracket out of? And did you just go in the middle of eachside? I don't want to be fishing and my lights turning down or up because they are heavy on the back or front
I used 1" x 1/4" thick flat stock for mine. Here's the only pic I have of them at the moment. The housings are tapered so I took the lights apart so I could see inside them and found a good spot where the holds wouldn't interfear with anything inside. I drilled one hole the measure it and copied it to the other side. I then measured the distance between the holes and made my brackets from there. They don't move much but I also used 1/2" plastic conduit and there are threaded ends that thread up to the mounting bracket that's on the housing and ran all my wiring through that and it helped keep the lights from moving.
I don't think 1/4" aluminum will be thick enough? Was thinking 1"x3/8" or even 1/2". Overkill? I doubt they'll turn much...I'm hoping. Have to figure something out if they do
All I use for brackets is 2" x 1/8". I just cut strips out of left over 3003 plate. Never had any problems with it breaking.
