I am posting this for any Utah lurkers that are not on the email list...

Members,
I received some great news late yesterday regarding the 2013 projected fishing regulations.
On docket for approval is NIGHT BOWFISHING!!!
The reason for the email is that we need to show up in FORCE to the Central and Northern RAC meetings in support for the Divisions suggestion.

The Central RAC meeting;
September 11th 6:30pm
Springville Public Library Meeting Room
45 S. Main Street, Springville

The Northern RAC meeting;
September 12th 6pm
Brigham City Community Center
24 North 300 West Brigham City

I'll be attending both meetings and would really like to see a bunch of UBA t-shirts in the audience.*

See you all soon!
Josh

In retrospect I would have liked to hear more on two things last night:

1) Misidentification of fish species at night. Since bowfishing shots are measured in feet not really yards, in dark waters the chances will be at least the same. Also with artificial lights and no sun glare it may be less likely to shoot game fish.

2) Moving all invasive fish and catch and kill open to bowfishing. As far as I know Burbot are the only ones in the regs that can be eaten via bowfishing. I just learned of the tilapia last night and I know folks in FL that shoot and eat those.

Also are the wheelchair bound folks that were there last night on the board? They were recieved really well and I'd love to see more of that pontoon boat.
