No larger than a 13.

buddy of mine had a 9 horse on a 1648, did great and didnt weigh the boat down too much. It was really tippy with his raised deck though...

Keeping a low weight is the key...
 
1660=11520 square inches
1650=9600 square inches

Thats not that big of a difference, lol

It won't let me edit that post. That is a huge difference in stability concerns.
 
Also my boat is a true flat bottom. Its not a semi or moddified v. On a 1650 13hp would be the max I would go and keep it as low as possiable. All that aside just because you have a larger motor dosent mean you have to run it wide open all the time. One thing is for sure. There isn't a one size fits all when dealing with fan boats. Decks gennys lights all vary between boats. How much weight and where it is in the boats plays a big roll as well.
