looks good man we weld a good bit of pipe and boiler tubes but dont get to mess with any aluminum
Thanx buddy! I'm a pipe welder at Austal here in mobile, and we see a lot of ALU pipe, but most everything I weld is stainless and copper nickel . Stainless is by far my favorite but ALU can be pretty cool to weld if your setup right.

well just finished the fan stand only thing left is to do is just a lil framing for the storage (lid framing), and the 3/8 plate to weld up on the top of the shaft for the fan motor to sit on.

I used 1 1/2" solid stock rod 6062 for the center shaft and this stuff is crazy stiff/strong.

here is my steering drum its a 8" 1/8 wall pipe. the reason i went with such a big drum was because i did alot of talking to bert turcotte and he had recently went to 10" drums and said it made a huge difference in his turning and he is running a reduction.i wouldve went with 10 but 8 was the biggest i could find.

Ha sure thing josh.

Its the 165 and its a sick little machine for what it is, nothing but good to say about it. I will however be buying a bigger machine in the future, not sure what miller I want yet.

I love my 350p, got it new for 3, 400 and then bought a used python gun. Thing can do some major welding! I'm used to the miller 650's at work but the inverter welders can kick butt! And use less power for home use! I can puls mig thinner alum then I can tig it. I'm not that great at tiging yet. Mainly bought the tig for casting repairs and such.

Thanx Clete and chad. I have taken my time and thought this build out hard, if it turns out right it will be one of the cleanest fan stands I've seen. Then again a may just be partial BC its my boat lol.
