The prop can make a huge difference. I run a 1756 FB Xpress. 5 Batteries, 12 gal gas, and myself in back. Ive played with a few pitches and for some reason the higher pitch I went the more it porposed. You could try a cheap prop or they do have props designed to left the stern a little. I know for my boat with an E-tec they have a rogue 4 blade that is designed for stern heavy boats. Im sure Yamaha has something similar.....Or just weld the tabs on and call it a day haha
LMAO!!!! I got the hydrofoil in yesterday and im takinthe boat out this morning when i get off work. Ill let you know if it was a waste of money ot not. One good thing is i have a 6" jack plate so i can play with the motor height also and see ifbthat helps any.

Hey brah u can screw around with the weight distribution get some concrete bags on your deck but it sounds more like a prop mine purposed til I got the right prop

Ok the whale tail/ hydrofoil was a waste. Imagine that! LOL!! I really dont wanna have to move any weight back up front. How big of tabs would you guys recomend having welded on my pods? Here is a picture of my boat with the pods on it now. They measure 24x24x 10.

when you are running full power and boat trimmed the best you can get it to do is there any water spray shooting up around the foot of engine and almost coming over into rear of boat i had this problem with mine i had floot pods as well as 12 inch toons extended another 18 inches past floot pods took 1/8 piece of flat alum plate connected it to boat and each floot pod back toward foot of engine as far as i could and not contact the foot when trimmed all way down actually i had a half moon piece trimmed out of this piece to get it as far back as possible around foot. this pretty well cured the problem. you might want to observe whats happening first around the foot and rear of boat first.

Why do you need float pods?

flat stock the length of the pods, sticking out from the pod edge 2" would do it. My last real boat had a tab running the length of the transom, only 1" wide. I had to adjust it and it did exactly what was needed. My last so called boat had one on each corner, about 6" long, and 4" wide and they worked also.

You obviously havent seen his old lady..... JUST KIDDING justin. Probably on the account of the 9 billion pound batteries he carries around with him. They look like they weigh the same as an s10 pickup.
LOL!!! Yeah i have some massive batteries in my boat that power my LED's. Im gonna do what Robin says and have a tab welded on to each pod that i can bend to where needed. Thanks guys!!!!

You nailed it EXACTLY! If i trim down to where it needs to be to stop, its throwing water up over the back of the boat BAD! I built a splash plate also for mine to deal with that. It almost acts like the motor shaft is to long but i have a jack plate and have tried moving it up and down 4 to 5 inches both ways and it doesnt seem to help at all but its way better higher up but also wants to cavitate easier. Maby this is just an F&F thing. I have never had this issue with any of my other boats.Im just gonna have some tabs put on the pods and hopefully be done with this.

sounds similar to what mine was doing if tabs don,t cure it all the way fill in between the float pods.

sounds like you need to unbolt that engine and line the cavitation plate up with the bottom of the boat at transom, ive had all of the problems that you have, and i have about the same things, 16 gallons gas, 4 g29 batts, a 3500 watt genny, 250 pound engine, and three people in back with pods, used to spray and porpose,,, i raised my engine and went with a lower pitch prop and it solved everything, better hole shot, im runnin my 6000 rpms, and itll porpoe not very often at all if any anymore, i work the trim if it does, since you have the jack plate it should be easier for you to move the engine

I just raised the motor back to 1/2" high off the bottom ofnthe boat but havent got to take it back out yet. Im gonna take it out today and ifnthat didnt help any its gettingbtabs put on monday. Im running a 13 pitch power tech pusher prop now and i cant givenit full throttle qithout over reving so that could be part of the issue. I know i need a 15 or 17 pitch prop for sure. I just didnt think that would causenthe problems im having but maby it is. At 3/4 throttle im running 5900rpms. If i hammer it down it will jump to 6400rpms easy which is BAD!!

I have and F&F with the same outboard. Motor has a whale tail and a 1" wedge between the motor and the transom. I doubt they'll adjust out exactly the same but on mine the distance between the bottom of the transom to the motor mount is 21".

Yeah i dont know if mine is a long shaft or extra long shaft. Motor that is. LOL! Anyways i bet mine 24 to 25 inches from the boat of the boat to the bottoom of the motor mount. I really think i have a pontoon boat motor on my boat but i cant figure out how to measure it for sure. I need to call a yamaha shop with the serial numbers and find out for sure. My cavitation plate is only 1/2" high off the bottomnof the boat.
