I have been told that float pods will not only help offset larger amounts of weight on the stern of the boat but also offer to the boat more stability. I have a " modified v" bottom boat. Would float pods help to stabilize this boat?

I agree with Greenway, however if you can move some equipment weight from the bow to the stern by adding pods I believe that it will make the boat somewhat more stabl because of hull displacement.
Im saying NO! They will add more floatation for rear weight but are going to do nothing for stability. They have never helped on my last two boats at all with stability.
Going to put them on because we are going with a much larger engine, regardless, but didn't know if they would help with the stability or not. The boat is not bad, but definitely more unstable than a true flat bottom. Is there anything else that can be done to help stabilize?
Best way I know is build ur 1648 just how I want it. Then put it in a 2072. That should stable if up quite a bit. But on a serious note. There's no way to make it more sable other than going on a diet.
is that your first jet jon build? did you use bottom of jetski hull? and how close are you to being able to drop it in the water? pics would be awesome!!!
This is my first one. All I lack is welding a drain plug in it and putting some rivets back in it. Pm me your email and I will get you some pictures of it. No I didn't use the hull.
they ruined my 1648 when I put my pods on. they really helped get the rear end up but it plowed water sooooooo bad it was scary to drive plus i had no steering control at all. They were made by a well known pod maker looked beautiful but they were the devil so be careful is all I have to say
Yep I am very glad how mine pods are made, I trim down to much and the back of boat was high then the front.
Trim it back up now looking for the sweet spot.
when you say "trim it back up", does that mean trim tabs?
