what are yalls thoughts on floats for rays. ive always just handlined them back to an ams retriever., but what would happen if u were to shoot a 100 plus pound southern.

You are not gonna stop a big southern. We used large bottles with 75yds. Of line and i guess they would usually stop or slow down by the time we would get turned around and go in theirr direction. My daughter used a float and loved it. Not any grief at all! It was nice when we would get into a bunch and you could let the float go and shoot others and retrieve the float later. My daughter could reel in all the line and re-rig in no time and be ready. If anyone finds it difficult to re rig or do quickly i would be glad to have my daughter give you a lesson....lol.
