Always used a hand control but I am currently adapting my foot control MK 101 to a stick steer, airboat style,push/pull steer.I'll post some pics up this evening.
hand is definitely the way to go...that way anyone can reach up and shut it off or turn the boat from anywhere... Standing and trying to drive foot, I tried it on a buddies boat and it was tough!
i agree with the hand control and go as big as you can we have a 101# riptide on a seaark 2072 and it pushes it great. take a look in your cabelas bargin cave i have seen a lot of nice trollers brand new go for cheap
I wanna add a little something...go with what you can. If you cant get a big troller, or a hand control...or an extra long shaft...get what you can and go hammer some fish... Everyone has to start somewhere...
they was a feller on here that had a flush mount made for his foot controlled troller made it to where ya didnt have to stand there like captain morgan while bowfishin but dunno how it would be as far as keepin ya balance sounded like a nice idea but other then that id rather have hand controlled with tha big shaft
Hand is the way to go. I have had the foot control and you are almost always off balance. I would try to get a min-kota for sure.I have seen some good prices on here.
hand for sure... I have a foot one now and hate it... its better now that I sit on a casting seat... but no one wants to switch out with me ever... its pain in the butt... would love to see what you come up with GG...
I had a foot control for several years and have recently swithched to a hand control. Both have pros and cons but I vote hand control, alot less back and leg ache
