Cajun Long Barb Piranha or the Cajun Lil' Stinger IV

 

If you are going to shoot grapples at bigger fish. You better get you some poundage on your bow. 60-70# on average. That is about all we shoot on the west coast. I know Kuger does not like Grapples. I shoot the crap out of them. Kuger is in Southern Ca. and I am in Northern Ca. But shoot mostly North in Wa. Or. Id. and made it to Utah this year. Have not had an issue with grapples. Use them mostly in the rocky areas. My favorite head is the GD 4 barb. Tough as heck and holds well. Shooting those kids bows back east is a whole different world. You want a point that makes the smallest hole possible but still holds well. Muzzy with the barbs squeezed in. Innerlock Pro Point. Cajun Stingers. Gene Davis. It is mostly what works for you. We can not say what will work best with your set up. You need to get one of each and go shoot some fish. No point will fully penetrate a cats skull on low poundage. I have shot carp with 70# and had the point look just like in that cat. It is placement to get the penetration, not always poundage. Also the legth of the Barbs to get full hold on shallow penetration.
Just my 2 cents. Others shooting back east might be able to help you more.

 

IMO Muzzy tips with bent in barbs are worthless... I lost some nice fish with solid shots due to a bent in muzzy. They just dont have enough holding surface. Now a Long barb pirahna with bent in barbs is the best! I shoot them for everything with very few pulloffs. I like grapples too, good if you shoot 45-50lbs or more.

muzzy quick release, shoot em in the high back and it wont pull out, i only shoot 17 lbs for 50 plus pound catfish and i dont have a problem

 

you aint shot many of em ownie.....come to the cooper tournament at the end of this month and see how that 17lbs works out for you...

 

innerLOCs with sharp new tips are flat out amazing. my wife shoots 40lbs. and gets her head full thru 30+lb. grassies. im using the cajun long barbs smashed down. they aint bad either.

 

U most certainly can shoot flat heads in the head and it will go through no problem ever

You arnt gonna dead center a big flathead and go clear thru . You can hit off to the side and go thru if they aint real deep .

 

If you would quit shootin that gilrs bow set at 20 pounds Hacksaw you would blow right trhough there heads. :laugh: Thats the only place i will shoot them. All these were stuck right in the ol melon.

I bought the Innerloc 3 Barb Grapple and a Cajun Lil Stinger 4 Barb Point. Now I can try both and see which one I like. Both tips weight about the same.

 

The Cajun Lil Stinger 4 Barb Point did well. Went out for a couple hours last night to test it out.

 

My osprey at 40 lbs won't put it all the way through there head 2 ft deep. I shot them in the back and sometimes get a pass through. My parter always head shoots them but never gets a pass through either. I shoot the 3 barb grapple. He shoots the pro point. I think both points are good. I have never shot the Cajun but Dixie has brought in some big ones using it

Cajun Lil Stinger 4 Barb Point Sucks.

Shot a 15 pound Catfish, he started spinning and spun the tip right of the arrow, yes the tip was tight when I shot him. Lost my new tip.
