Why would they close up the ramp like that?

 

ITS FREAKIN COLORADO! There aint no tellin why they do some of the things they do!! lol

 

Went by a some more Windsor lake( frozen over), boyd lake getting closer but frozen, lake loveland 30% open, Lone tree Res. getting close 10% open, Big Tompson ponds getting close, Simpson ponds getting close, Boedecker starting on shore, Lon Hagler getting close. Went by Timnath Res. it is 20% open but you canot fish there (it looks like a great carp lake).

 

Went to Chatfield today, people are still ice fishing. Barr has open water on the edges, about 10 ft. out.

 

there were guys ice fishing on Douglas with open water 100 ft away from them. thay are crazy you want get me on ice under 6"

I finally got all the lights installed. The 400 watt hps at the front is alot brighter than the 150's. It eliminated the blind spot up front.

Nice!!! need to get on that myself with some brighter lights.

 

Hard earned fish this time of year. Hope it stays warm.

I just want to say that I appreciate how open you guys are to talking about the open areas for Bowfishing. Normal fishing you can't get people to tell you what state they fish in. So thanks for making everything so welcoming.
One question on the Big Thompson Ponds, according to the Colorado Bowfishing site and DOW it is not open to bowfishing. Can anybody elaborate? Thanks in advance for your help.

(Big Tompson Ponds)On the web site it is U/N on Artificial lights there, but I have been bowfishing there for over 20years. There is three ponds there that you can bowfish on the one in the center is small but full of carp for the most part, The one in the back is a old gravel pit but the carp in there are bigger but harder to get a shoot off, The front pond is green water (algae) and carp # i think are low in it I have not shoot one out of it for years.

 

Along the Platte ft. morgan to brush. Then I took Mitch out there and we got blanked.

 

Yea that happens a lot when Mitch gets invited along. Smokin hot fishin one day to a barren wetland the next when Mitch shows up, all from the power of his presence.

 

Some open water but there aint no fish in it.

Went out to Big Thompson ponds, completely open but didn't see any fish today. Also Boyd is very nearly open as well, also no carp. Wind was not in my favor.

 

It's going to be a warm week 50's up to 60's that will help water temp.!!

 

Does anyone know a lake that is open to boating yet, so we can see how some of these newly set up boats sit in the water?

The past few weeks there where some open water around the banks,but no fish!!!
There still alot of ice around here yet.

 

They put a dock in at lone tree?! Thats great, about time. We went there last week and did pretty good, there were alot of fish in the shallows already. Planning on hitting boyd this week sometime. Lon hagler is also open

 

Didnt know they had a dock at Lonetree. Is that at the bigger ramp, to the north? Guess I havent been there in a while. Bet they love your boat out there Aaron!

Barr Lake will open for boating on March 12th at 7:00am 2011. Pre-inspections for ANS may be scheduled in advance by appointment at the Ranger office (303)655-1495. Regular ANS inspection hours for March will be Sat/Sun only from 7am-5pm at the Entrance Station. At least this is what the website says.

 

boyd inspection hours 7 or 8am to 6pm just got back from there the water temp. was about 44 deg. but the fish are deep.

 

Pueblo is open. I heard that pretty much everything is still deep. I will probably head out this week so I will let you know.
