Front steer mud motor 1860

Just started on a rebuild of an southern duck boat 1860. Long story short the boat is built really cheap and the flimsy deck was driving me crazy. Plan for the boat is removable light rail, 7 foot deck and 10-12inch walk arounds. Push pull on the mud motor with cables and pulleys. I’ll try to keep posting pics here!

Bob Esper hooked me up with the removable light rail.. 6 bolts and it’s off. Went with the 50 watt viugreums for lights.
Nice clean slate.. deck was a pain in the rear end cutting out

Still trying to figure out how to post pictures on here <a href="http://s1378.photobucket.com/user/garrettyates2424/media/605B1B6A-1A73-43F6-B654-489C3DF9C168_zpsnyh5chdz.jpeg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah101/garrettyates2424/605B1B6A-1A73-43F6-B654-489C3DF9C168_zpsnyh5chdz.jpeg" border="0" alt=" photo 605B1B6A-1A73-43F6-B654-489C3DF9C168_zpsnyh5chdz.jpeg"></a>
Dang I thought you had this boat set up awhile ago, didn't know you were still working on it

How did you get that picture to show up over a link? Build looks great so far!
I had it setup and fished off it one night.. can’t ever leave something alone
Upload to photobucket and then copy the link. Thanks!

That’s pretty interesting.. seen people idle big motors and turn it with the troller. My steering is going to be a push pull steer stick on pulleys and cables
Change of plans on the walk arounds.. keeping it simple as possible.. weight is definitely an issue with this motor so just 45’d off the deck.

I did the same with my old airboat. Worked great

Finally got it painted and cleaned up. You can see updated pictures on my post
Got the steering all hooked up tonight.. she’s pretty smooth. Next challenge is moving the controls to the front. Plan is trim, ignition and the clutch for forward and neutral all on the front stick. Anyone have any thoughts on how to do it? Plan for now is to splice into each wire and run it to the front.. not sure if it will work or not lol
