Front steer mud motor 1860

Just started on a rebuild of an southern duck boat 1860. Long story short the boat is built really cheap and the flimsy deck was driving me crazy. Plan for the boat is removable light rail, 7 foot deck and 10-12inch walk arounds. Push pull on the mud motor with cables and pulleys. I’ll try to keep posting pics here!

Looking good man

Test and tune today. She will run about 23-25 from the front and steer easier than my kicker boat. It’s gonna be deadly on some fish!

Only issue as of now is my throttle. This is how I have it tied in, it’s a little stiff but it works.

First trip out last night, she will run 23-24 empty and 17-18 with 3 guys and a bowfishing load. Not a speed demon but I think it will get the job done! Considering sending of the heads to get them worked. Overall pretty happy with it!
