Unfortunately most good gar spots folks know about are secrets most will take to their graves. Hit the big rivers and you should manage to run into some gar.
Carpe Diem is right on the money. The few gar that we have in spot x's across the state are secrets taken to the grave. Lol the rivers by the cities and south have good reproduction and are really plentiful. Shouldn't be hard to get on em in the backwaters at night or a super hot day when there Rollin by the wing dams. Hope that helps
