Welcome back, it will be a little bit before we're sticking any fish around here. I'm still dropping fishing lines down through the ice.

Pretty sure neither of you are admins. Only admin is Jeff and the actual site admin I guess.

Did get out the other nite, did get some snakeheads (20) and a bunch of nice ones, suffered from CHS and we all missed the first 10-12, turned lights on at about 7:45 and didn’t put first fish in the boat till about 9, cut the nite short about mid nite when troller died early, ended up being bad middle battery on our 36v troller

Good job man! We've been out chasing fish too. Cold sucks and my hands get froze quick, gotta find them fast or can't shoot for nothing.

Hey there Inspector.
I do despise this forum software and the politics of the company buying all the forums up. Their notification links never work for me either, so there must be redirects my stuff is blocking; to follow a thread I have to do it manually.

I haven't got out much the past couple seasons but so far this year it has been like the old days. All daytime so far. Pretty hefty barrels of small commons, borderline too heavy to get onto the truck bed. A lot of fertilizer this spring. Thankfully there are no snakeheads here yet.

I've been going through the different points I made over the last 10 years or so that are still in one of my bowfishing tackle boxes, some tried, some not. Killed a couple big girls today, big for here, about 20lbers. One of those experimental points got her in the barrel, but came out of her with the barb broken off. The second was with a shurshot clone, an RPM, whatever they were called. I still find a single barb to the be the best for me, just like every fish hook, a single barb, not a double or triple. My favorites are a very heavy single barb swept heavily but long, welded on to the point body. Remove by unscrewing head or unlooping line at nock. I just never settled on the perfect length to make a bunch.

Still using the LFM and the original 888 I bought for it. I need to retire the 45lb black bear, I think. Messed up my shoulder a few years ago. The LFM is heavy but still shoots bullets and fast ones at 30-35 lb and then some let off.

So still looking for that perfect bowfishing point for small common carp when the water warms up. Most double barbs tear too big a hole since most hits on small carp are going to be near an edge, while something like a grapple holds great but is too hard to recover in soft mud, let alone a brushpile. I have not looked at new factory points from the last 4-5 years though, so I'm curious what they've come up with. Last time I looked I recall grapple clones with standard 1/4-28 tips but they looked junky overall.

Edit: As ever, I'm not much for pics of dead fish, but they are still in the barrel. Need to lay them under a garden row somewhere tomorrow. Think there are 18 in there.
