I have only used Lil stingers or cajuns. I actually like the Lil stingers better, they seem to hold up fine for what we use them for, like mentioned above you need to tighten the tip every couple shots as it will loosen on its own.

Or jump in a barrel full O' titties and come back up with a di*k in my mouth
yeah thats some bad luck lol i thought i had crappy luck

my saying is "i could marry a hooker and she would quit F****** the next day"

love the gene davis 2 barbs. I have a few that I use whenever i go to texoma and shoot into rocks all day. little file in my console takes the mushroom out after the end of the day (if you even need to) and it keeps on trucking. I have bent the barbs on one tip compleatly up numerious times and both barbs are still there...

I had to compose an email with the literary brilliance compiled in the this thread about bad luck and send it to some friends.

Also I shoot gene davis and they are some tough tips. Can also be dressed up with a grinder after you beat them blunt on rocks.

I think the metal grade is much better (harder) in the Gene Davis.
He just changed his material recently. He is now using a pre heat treated 4140 then re heat treats the tip after it's cut.
They are a bit tougher now then they use to be but 4140 isn't really a hard material. I've used the 2 bar for a long time on all fish. I wanted a little stiffer barb and don't like the rust, so I made some like his out of stainless with a stiff barb.
At the end if the day I didn't see much difference except the lack of rust so I saved myself the effort this year and started using the GD again.

I don't shoot into rocks but sounds like the gd is what i need for soft buffs.

Don't matter to me cause I cut all the barbs off anyway and superglue the threads. If I want to shoot barbs I shoot warhead or piranha

Sounds like a field tip

Ever shot a fish without realizing you lost your gene davis? I think I knocked a fish out when I hit him in the head with no tip. he started floating sideways. Pretty funny.

True...the Gene Davis is much harder and holds up better if you're shooting rocks. The Lil Stinger is a little more resistant to rust though. As far as the barbs go, I haven't been able to tell much difference....they will bend down fairly easily on both. The Gene Davis has longer barbs which=more holding power but create more leverage for bending.

The idea behind the long flexible barbs on the GD is that they flex or bend flat out of the way on entry making a smaller hole. Then spring back open making it harder to pull out... That being said, we pull out of a lot of buffs and carp with them this time of year. :cf:
