My buddy and I took a few youngsters to the Jerrad Ashmore memorial youth tourney Saturday night. This was our third year and as always, we had a blast! Big heads have been hard to come by at night this year but we found a ton of silvers Friday night so we knew they would get to fling a lot of arrows. We had my buddy's daughter and her two cousins and my nephew. The little lady has been bowfishing several times but until Saturday, she had only managed to get one fish in the boat. She go 8 that night!!! We had two first timers and they managed to get their 5 fish limit too. My nephew had a five fish weight of 73lbs. 81lbs won his age group. He had a coue nice ones pull off that probably would have put him on top but that's how it goes. He got a big surprise during the door prize drawings though. He walked away with a fully rigged discovery 2 just like his awesome uncle has! Lol. His dad isn't a big hunter of fisherman so me and him are pretty tight. He calls me huntin daddy. Lol. He cracks me up. If you didn't make it to the shoot, you missed a great time. If you get a chance to come next year you won't be sorry. Hats off to everyone involved in putting this event on. They work hard all year long to make sure every kid leaves a winner.
