hey guys i just bought my first boat, and i was reading on some of the threads and saw where it said not to use treated lumber if you have an aluminum boat. Is that true? Also for the ones that build decks/floors with aluminum about what was the cost for everything? I dont have a clue as to what i need to use to build the deck and the floor. Any input would be much appreciated.

If I'm not mistaken...only certain types.of treated lumber eat aluminium...I have had treated wood on my river boat trailer since 2004 ain't no holes ate in the boat yet, don't believe everything u read on da internet.

i think the old brown colored treated lumber was worse, they used a different chemical. the new stuff is supposed to be better.as brady said i had a wood floor in my old boat for a while with no damage.but i did have several coats of paint on the wood. that being said, put an aluminum floor in it. it gets old pulling out the old floor buying cutting and painting new plywood every year. cost depends on thickness and size sheet/sheets you need
