Weather was nice this evening so we went to Dunlap to see if we could help thin out the plecos a bit. Aggievet2008 lives there so he came down to visit a bit at the ramp and we talked him into going with us for a few minutes. He and Little Killer started puttin fish in the boat right off the bat. Fished half an hour or so and then dropped him off and picked up DeadeyeDeb at the ramp. Fishing was pretty dang good and they shot some plecos, tilapia, rio grande cichlids, bluegills, suckers, shad, longnose and a carp or two. Little Killer doubled on plecos and then followed up with a double on shad. Not bad for a short weeknight trip. :tu:

Nice pile of fish there. There are still some remains of the plecos we shot on Dunlap last year where we dumped them on my place in East Texas. It took the buzzards a couple of days to figure out how to eat them. Carpcommander tried to dry one but after a few months the stench never let up so he pitched it.

Hell yes, smoke them on a hickory plank for 3 hr's at 225 degrees ...pull them out of the smoker, then throw the fish away and eat the wood plank.

Them plecos are a lot of fun to shoot! Not fun to try to dry out for a mount though....
