day time, we see em in the backs of coves mostly....the best way i have found is dont try to sneak up, they will blow out, least round here. troll full blast to the back of the cove. when your about 20 yards from the back turn the troller off and coast in, be ready to shoot fast. Might not work where you are at but round here in places that we know grassies usualy sit it works pretty good.
