setting up new deck, any "rule of thumb" on light spacing i am going to use 500 and 300 watt halogen lights maybe 2 foot off the water and is more hight on lights better any help to save on trial and error would be apperiated. thanks

I'd say about 24-30" for 300w and 36-42"+ for 500w. My front two are 6' apart but I am using dual lamp fixtures with a 350w and a 225w in each fixture. Just lay them up on the deck (NOT mounted), and turn them all on in the dark and play with them untill you get just enough overlap and no dark spots.......then mark 'em and mount 'em.
