what do yall know about them im thinking of using them instead of the ultra prop on my fan.
kinda the reason i went with 1/2" expanded, i like all my fingers to stay intact"Oh yeah, big time. I bet that stuff is blocking 50% of your air flow, plus the air that does get through is going to be very turbulent. By comparison, we usually use 2"x2" welded wire mesh guard material."
True.........but won't keep a finger or two from going through. We often times are back by the fan when it is turning. and even need to swing it by hand on occasion.
I like 1/2" x 1/2" rabbit galvanized, welded rabbit wire. Low resistance and keeps out fingers and branches.

Yes.............1" x .065" steel with 1/8" base plate. Very light, very strong.deltadog ius that flat bar you built your shroud out of?
how hard was it to roll into a circleYes.............1" x .065" steel with 1/8" base plate. Very light, very strong.
i may steal your ideaYes.............1" x .065" steel with 1/8" base plate. Very light, very strong.
i was thinking the same thing when i get ready to build a new shroudi may steal your idea
Very easy with a simple plywood template. Just calculate your circumference (diameter x 3.14), cut to length, take a piece of plywood and put a nail dead center, take a string and marker from that nail and draw the proper size circle, pound nails about an inch or two apart along the whole line, then bend your cut piece around the nails and weld the ends together (need to pin that first end in with nails on both sides OR have a helper hold it down). Then set your mounting plate centering on that center nail, cut some braces and weld 'em in. My braces are configured oddly to avoid the muffler and gas tank on my 16hp motor. Not great pix but you get the idea.how hard was it to roll into a circle
heck yeah........change it up and make it better and I will steal it back!!i may steal your idea
