Alright guys last year I rebuilt an older minn Kota Maxxum into a new 80lb. We redid the armiture and brushes. Then did the whole top end with new board and everything. It has worked great all winter then when we got to the US open it worked for 5 minutes then quit. We found some frayed wires inside and re wired te entire thing top to bottom. Put I'm water and under load after 5 minutes and shutoff again. Took it to a trolling motor dealer said he fixed it by replacing and heat shrinking a few terminals. Tried it last night and 5 minutes then shuts off. What is wrong with this thing!?

Help me on my Troller issue!?
I think it was 10 gauge in it. No circuit breaker in line fro battery to Troller took it out to see if that was the issue and it isn't the issue.
Up sizing wire won't hurt anything, almost sounds like the board is going out. Thats what happend when I fryed mine. It slowley died. Took it out ran a while started quiting. Next morning would work fine till a lil run time on it than it would quit. The relay melted on mine fron running WOT all the time. Now I uped it to a 101lb
