I've done a couple hours of research and think I'm more confused than when I started. My tourney partner just got his 1860 Tracker Sportsman that's all rigged from the get go. As I was looking things over I noticed it's got the 7 Seelites, Honda genny, 2 batteries, but an onboard charger. It's a Noco gen2 2 bank charger, but correct me if I'm wrong but between a 55# tm and 7-50 watters, them batteries aint gonna last long, and an onboard charger isn't meant for charging while you're running. So I believe a 55 (iota or powermax) will do, or does he need to step up to a 75? Thanks for the help fellas.

The generator is for the lights...otherwise it's not needed....batteries for troller....lights would need own batteries I believe if u want to run silent...u only need the converters if you are trolling long tournaments and want constant full battery power...u will need more generator also....depends on what u r trying to accomplish...

Nope lights are 12v wired to battery, lights come on without generator being on. And it's a 12v troller. I'm a little baffled that a boat that's supposed to be so thought out you just gotta hit the water only has 2 batteries and no converter. Also noticed all the wires are connected with open ended butt connectors and not even the heat shrink kind.

Well that's just stupid....lol....the generator is useless without converters....u need 1 converter for each battery running off your generator....that way your troller and lights will run all night....55 would work but someone more experienced with smaller troller amp draw may have a cheaper idea...that setup makes no sense to me....but I may be missing something...

55# is 50a
7-50w is 27a

55a converter might be enough, 75a sure would be. Leave the on-board charger wired for charging at home.
Wire batteries together if they aren't already to make 1-12v system.
