I got in some may flies the other night and they clogged up my radiator. I was running the channel when I noticed the boat was running hot. It usually runs about 165 and when I caught it the gauge was reading about 220. I cut it off and loosened the radiator cap to let the pressure off . I poured for big bottles of water in it. I started it up in an attempt to limp it back to the dock. I made it a short piece and the temp gauge started climbing again so I shut it down. Tried to restart it and all it would do is turnover. Wouldn't fire. I pulled the dipstick on the oil and it doesn't look milky. The next day I checked everything over ,oil (not milky filled it with water, voltage on battery , etc etc...but still wont fire. Did I do motor damage or is the overheat caused something else to fry? Thanks in advance .

Yea 220 isn't bad. I would say check the fire in the plugs. If no fire check the ign module. Is it a HEI or MSD? Could've possibly boiled over from being hot and got the ign module wet seems far out but you never know.

I had my 468 to well over 240 a few times and never did any damage. Got her over 300 once and well that'll do damage lol
