Thanks for all of your concern and for those of you who kept an eye out. He was found today but he wont be able to come home. He will forever be lying in his blind on a frozen stubble field waiting for the sun to pear through the horizon and the first flight of honkers for the day. My friend made me a better hunter and made me push harder, travel further, and learn more just so he had something to retreive. He filled our family's life with joy and my heart with pride and love. I would like to thank the many friends Gunn Gunn and I have shared the field with that spoke up to show their appreciation of his job well done, they helped me to realize just how lucky I am to have known him. I would always tell him "God bless you Gunny, no wait God blessed me with you" it really does ring true now. You are missed by many, but we will share a duck blind soon. Love you more than you can imagine, Chuck MAAARK.......GO

Chuck words can't describe what you're feeling. So sorry for your lose brother....Gunner was second to none and was ALWAYS a pleasure to be around. May his skies be filled with waves of birds and the water shallow! Run big boy run!

So sorry for your loss. I haven't ever met him, but I've got a big black dog of my own. Wouldn't know what to do without him.

 

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Sorry for your Loss Man! I have a Chocolate lab as well and it's amazing what those dogs will teach an owner. I say good dogs never Die they just find that big Blind in the Sky and wait til you get there.
