Yea i dont want to get too pointy so that the very tip is better supported. I have shot a red brick about a dozen times with one of them i didn't think was good enough to sell and you cant tell it was abused. I have video and a picture of that if any one is interested in that. I have shot a couple fish with the ones in the first pic. The points can be a bit more blunt with the flutes. I am going to order more steel and i can make some that are pointier too. I have A LOT more to make the bait shop is interested in some too.

Arrowed a decent sized carp today with the tip that i shot the bricks with. Unfortunately no pics of the victim. It didn't even think about slowing down or bouncing off just straight through the fish

Yeah, I don't know crap about how to achieve proper hardness. Only how to spec it for application and test products ordered to that spec. I've seen the quench and temper process in factories in China. It looked a little more complex than make it glow and cool it off tho.

Yea depending on the metal it can be a real PITA. Some its as simple as heat up and let air cool. then there are others that need to be slowly brought in increments to critical and then quenched in weird quenchants

I agree with the more pointy sentiment. If you're taking orders, I'd be down for a half dozen, just let me know payment info.

On a side note, have you considered doing these in stainless steel? I do a lot of bowfishing in salt water, and I am always fighting with seized up points from rust. I would definitely be willing to pay more for some stainless points.

I haven't done much work with stainless not sure how my piece of junk mill will handle it. I'll see if i can scrounge a couple piece and see if i can make em or not.

I am going to order more steel and then i can start filling more orders if interested pm me.

Does anybody know what threads the innerloc grapple uses? I dont have one right now

Went down to the river this morning a shot a couple decent carp for those parts. I got a pic of one of them along with the point used which is the one i have shot into bricks several dozen times.

did some bank walking with some of my tips yesterday and today.
got 4 yesterday (my first buff and sucker)

and three today could of had 2 more but i showed some pretty poor shot placement

Looks more like a carpsucker or quill back but congrats!

My tips showed up in the mail. The pics don't do them justice, they look great!

Hope to get out and shoot in the next week and I will give a report.

Huh i was just going by what a co told when i said "this is legal right?" and he said "yup buff". quillbacks are considered suckers aint they?

I am glad you like em so far! please do let me know how they work out when you get a chance to stick some fish

I am thinking about trying to make some with six flutes. Not sure if it will work but until my shipment of 4130 gets here i have nothing better to do.

Tips worked great this weekend. Only issue is I gave one buddy a tip that had a bad wire and he lost a few fish but that was my issue. They do seem much tougher than a standard muzzy tip.

Great job!

Awesome! glad you like em. Is there anything you would change on them to make them better?

I set up a couple friends with a simple reel and some of my arrows with my points to try them (and draw them into bowfishing but ssshhh thats a secret). Hope to hear back and post some pics (cuz pics are awesome:hb:)
