How do I install Caps on NPF lights?

So im looking to get some hps lights for my boat, plannin on doing a remote ballast box. In looking for lights i have run across the NPF and HPF versions, I was thinking since I am doing remote ballast, maybe I could get NPF lights and add my own caps. does anyone know how to do this? pics would be great too

This is for run caps right? the starter is on all HPS lights fix.? thay donot need start/caps? and to but caps drop what? amps right

Do not attempt to use a motor start capacitor on a hps light. A motor run cap will work fine though.

if your gonna do a remote box,would you save some money buying the cheaper hps without caps and then buying caps? pros/cons? cause I want to switch to hps but dont need the weight up front. my new deck is being built and i need to get some lights so he can finish and dont know which way to go........sorry for the hijack

i think they're quite a bit cheaper on 1000bulbs.com if i remember right

the starter is already in it. the cap is optional but it lowers your amp draw by a lot

Where are you looking on 1000bulbs.com? not finding caps for 150s. does it need to be the caps specifically for hps lights?
