Do not attempt to use a motor start capacitor on a hps light. A motor run cap will work fine though.

That's not how it works- caps are matched to the ballast. What light are you wanting a cap for?

 

if your gonna do a remote box,would you save some money buying the cheaper hps without caps and then buying caps? pros/cons? cause I want to switch to hps but dont need the weight up front. my new deck is being built and i need to get some lights so he can finish and dont know which way to go........sorry for the hijack

i think they're quite a bit cheaper on 1000bulbs.com if i remember right

 

the starter is already in it. the cap is optional but it lowers your amp draw by a lot

 

Where are you looking on 1000bulbs.com? not finding caps for 150s. does it need to be the caps specifically for hps lights?
