What kind of lights are they? Do they run directly off the batteries now or off of an inverter?

Look on your genny if the lights are in fact 12volt lights some gennys have a 12 volt outlet.

Some do have this outlet but it likely will not have enough output to run more than one light. A converter is the way to go.

Powermax and iota are two of the main names in converters. You could have just one battery with a converter and genny.

Are you planning on running a trolling motor also? If yes what size?

A1000 watt genny would work. A 2000 watt genny would allow you to run two converters for lights and a 24 volt troller if you wanted that option in the future.
