20 foot alumaweld,150hp merc,3 guys,38 gallons fuel running 43-44mph on gps

SLOW!!!
15 merc on a 1436 aluminum semi V fixin to go to a 1538 flat bottom...

1872 flatbottom...150 hp Johnson...Get about 42 mph on gps...I lost 3 or so mph when i added that big ol' fan.

1655 OMC Roughneck with a 50 Yamaha 4-stroke. I saw 33 on the gps once but 29-30 is the norm when we're fishing.

1756 G3 60HP Yamaha two stroke. 33mph gps. Usually around 30 is the average speed. That's fast enough for me.

1960 Lowe w 115 merc. runs 47 with 2 guys. could get a lil more with a diff prop but i like being able to jump outta the hole quick with a heavy load

1650 with a 70hp Johnson, I can get 38-39 unloaded with a 21"p prop, fishing load and a 19"p prop I average 30-32 depending on how many fish are on the floor.

1642 Alumacraft MV, 35hp Force 13.5p, son and I loaded no fish...22mph on GPS 23 with tailwind and light riffle. What amazes me is how this thing pop's on plane with that 13.5p and the trim pin out all the way.

i'm not calling anyone a liar or anything but "some" (not all) of the numbers seem inflated. i got a 2072 alumacraft with a 2005 90hp 2 stroke merc. And it dont matter if its just me or 3 other people it runs 32 tops all day long never more. Maybe its just operator error and one day i will set my jackplate just right and gain 7 mph :)

some may be but keep in mind a wide (like yours) boat offer a lot more drag than a narrower boat will. i had a 1872 seaark with a 90 at one time and 36 was all i could ever get. prop pitches and weight distribution, trim and jack plates will all play a huge factor also.

hull design is a major factor, makes a lotta difference. mine with 2 guys is an honest gps 49, and that's with the motor all the way down on the jack plate, so it should be about 4 or 4 1/2 high, it'll end up doing 50mph. hyper lift high performance hull

travis ur speed seems reasonable to me, i was just referring to some other ones. On the old bfc there was a thread like this and some people were claiming 40mph from 2072's with 90hp setups, and i always thought maybe it was my trim position but after two yrs thats still the best i can muster out of her lol
