2000 Nova Crestliner 1860mv, 2000 90hp Johnson, 14" x21p aluminum prop (pretty beat up), fully loaded with 3 people I can get 43 before the porposing kicks in. Hopeing to rework my pods this spring & add little tabs to the back to help.

45 gps with 80 gal. gas------and 3 plp. and gear
Same engine and prop as Butch, 2 ft shorter hull, gps says 47 with 3 people, and a full 80 gallons, and in deep water...

all boats are different, when you get the right hull/motor combination you can get some impressive results.

My dad has a 1756 alumacraft bass boat. It can beat my buddy's 18' ski boat with a 150 merc. I never thought it was possible, but it did, I beat him out the hole, and stayed ahead of him for 16 miles up the Yazoo River. I am sure if he played around with his prop pitch and adjusted the height of his outboard, the results would be different, but as it sits, a little ole 1756 with a 70 yamaha two stroke beat a boat with a 150...

Power to weight ratio is the key...

18.6x8 sea pro skiff 90hp yahmaha 4 stroke loaded down with 3 people,6 400w hps and 8500/5000 genny, and 9.9 merc 2 stroke kicker and 15 gallons of fuel i get about 31mph by gps..

It would be interesting to see boat weights figured into this.

Like it was said, so many factors effect speed, weight being a biggy.

56 mph by GPS in 20x8 Airboat witn 598ci BBC turning a 2.55 Stinger and an 82" 4 Blade S Series Sensenich. That was the highest I've seen but I've pitched it out a little more to get a little more on the low end and at WOT right now I'm around 47 mph.

Boat is #3000 I checked it on the scales
Loaded and going fishing w/3 guys I get 32-34 on the GPS
2072 Seaark, 90hp Optimax, Piranha composite prop 17" pitch
First chance I get it'll have a 140 Zuki on it

Ive got a 2072 F&F with a 110 Evinrude. With the prop that is on it now the first time out with two people and 18 gal fuel ran 49 on GPS. Now after one year fishing if I get the weight right I just can get 40. Not sure why the drastic drop in speed but the old motor still does all I could want and more.
