that doesnt make much sense. what fixtures do you run that add up to 1100?

 

Used to run 18 x 36w Led's under a deck on the front of a 2072 Grizzly, all going on the front of a 1872 Xpress now.

btw i currently run 17-30watts off my 1660 slick bottom. true warm (3000k), 51,000 total lumens,from 510watts. will add a few more in the spring and end up 20-22.

 

I ran 14 27w leds on my old 1852. Put out good light and didn't have any blind spots. But never going back to leds ever again lol just not enough light for Alot of the dirty water I shoot.

 

i started with 27s. and i totally understand your perspective. but i took and put a yellow headlight film on every other light and it "warmed" the whole set-up. im just sayin, there are alternitives to your problems.

 

I'm sure that would of helped a ton, some guys I took just plain had a hard time seeing fish "not gonna mention names" lol Not dissing Leds cuz I've killed a ton of fish over the ones I had so they have there place, but I'm gonna give 400w HPS a shot this year and see what all the fuss is about op:

I have a 1756 boat and run 12 of the 50 watt all water led's from American Airboat

 

6-100 watt and 4- 50 watt rgb's

 

I have a 18/56 running 14, 50 watt and will bump it up to 18 by spring.
I can see farther than I can shoot....

Do most of you shoot the warm white color? How do they penetrate?

 

warm white penetrates murkey water better, if the water you shoot is clear, then you wont have as much reflection and you can use a cooler light. Just depends on the water.

 

I shoot pretty dirty water.is the warm white comparable to a halogen in color? What about light output..I shoot 300w halogens right now will the 50w give off the same less or more light as a 300w halogen?

 

I shot 500w halogens before, and I absolutely love the warm white leds I went with. I have never regretted my decision at all, I can see fish just as good with the leds

 

Sweet. Is it easy to hard wire the led lights when they come to my genny?

 

I use batteries then run a converter from the genny. If you wanted to run the genny all the time get 110v and youll be set.

 

Do the lights come already wired and ready to plug in?

Last question lol. For my 16ft boat should I run 8 or 10 50w??

 

How wide?? If could do it would put 4 across the front, then 3 down each side. We ran. (8) on our bass tracker 1748, had 2 on front and 3 down each side and was fine. Run 4 on front and 4 down each side on our 2072

The water here is crystal clear so I run day light bright lights for the most part but if the water gets muddy or cloudy, I tape a three inch square of tan plastic on a couple lights and they penetrate muddy water just fine.

 

i run just cool whites on mine cause our water is pretty clear but it still penetrates murky water too as far as I've noticed

 

Anybody tried cool and warm alternating around the boat..
