23# on my discovery 2.. shooting fish the other night in about 4-6 feet of water with absolutely no problems with penetration

 

23 is a good number for that mean little bastard.That's where I shoot mine at too most of the time.:tu:

 

I shoot 40lbs. on my cuda and I also have a discovery 2 set at 25 lbs

 

I asked this question to everyone on facebook and got lots of 40s to 55lb range. Some good bowfisherman have told me that 30 lbs will snooker out anything that swims where I bowfish.. ... keyword where I bowfish a 50 -60 lb fish is a giant, but I was in Texas in 09 shooting 32 lbs and had no worrys.
