How much do you have in your boat?

I was doing a little costing of my project 18 footer today. Between the flooring, materials for the deck & lightrail, lights & wiring, speedliner, motor, console, seating, shotblasting, gas tanks + the initial cost of the hull & trailer (I already had the troller & genny) I'm going to be into this thing for around 5½ grand! Not bad for a $2000 project!

How much did your boat cost to build?

I'd hate to know what some folks have in there boats and the cost in keeping the up and running.

Some of the larger fan riggs have just about 5 k just in a fan.

5800 initial cost for boat motor and trailer

new kicker 1200
misc stuff 500
new tilt trim parts 400

Thats just this year, last year I spent several thousand also on repairs, maintinance and misc stuff........My wife hates the word "boat"

Ive got:
16k in the hull and rigging
2K in the trailer
12K in a Motor
5k in a prop and Belt drive
900 in lights
Around 3.5k in Misc accessories like rudders, cables, fuel cells, ect.
So right at $39,400 give or take.
And Garguys is right it seems like the chit never ends. They nickle and dime ya to death. I wanna know if any one has bought a boat and made a budget for your project and actually HELD to the budget. I think its impossible.

Good thread...painful but good I guess?

Bare hull, trailer, motor originally 3000.

Sold the moter for 800-puts bare hull and trailer at 2200.

Blasting the hull-500.

Roughly 3000 in metal.

Outboard, prop, gas to pick it up in WI-roughly 6000.

Steering, rigging labor, controls, gas tank, oil tank-roughly 900.

Maxxum 36v 101lb-450.

4 batteries-roughly 500.

Buying and selling my welder, 2 full tanks of argon and a spool of wire, net loss-roughly 700. (still have a 5ft tall tank though that's full!)

Speakers, radio mount, baffles-roughly 200.

Hydraulic jack plate-1000.

Plus odds and ends (wire, small lights, switches, foam, latches, totes, nuts and bolts) total roughly 300. (WILD estimate here)

General total so far-$15,750....'ISH'.

Good Christ-I really seriously didn't realize I had sunk this much damn $$$$$$$$$$$$ into my boat!

And the bad part is, I STILL have a 3200 trailer to buy, 2 Honda gennys at 2000 for both, hydraulic steering at almost 1000, and a fishfinder/GPS at about 600!! OUCH!

What's that you say? A FAN?

....ehh...maybe next year....
