Finda ya a big wirl pool in the river thats where I see the most of them

 

find a scum line in the bend of the river and zig zag around that. if you hear fish busting when the light comes on you need to go to where you heard them. around where i am from they havent been coming up till late and not in good numbers either. good luck.

 

Scum lines. Current breaks. Tree line shadows. Remember to b quiet n use lite as little as possible.

 

Behind rock ***** , find scum line. Be verry verry quiet!!!

 

How do ppl shoot em off airboats?? Chim in jraducks, if u don't mind sharing

Idk how or where they shoot em on an airboat. Id like to see em do it. It would b interesting

 

It's just like shooting any other fish to be honest..It's not some super secret technique or anything. We were shooting them in 3'-8' of water and had lights and motor running the whole time. Also we did not chase a single fish down at a high RPM or by rapidly accelerating!

 

We're mainly doing this at. Night. Any cirtain way I should be shining? Does water depth matter? Also is it a sucking noise or just breaking water.small or large ripples? Appreciate the help

 

Looks like lil rings on surface at nite. We fish in deeper water. Wen they blow up it sounds like sumbody dropped a bowlin ball from the clouds

 

LUCK more than anything.. They can be one place every night for a week and then they're just gone! It's a big river!

 

Thanks all. If we come onto silvers feeding will big heads be mixed In with them or even close? We saw the first one with the spot light. Then we shot one with our genny running and the hps lights on haha

 

Hope this isn't too late but here are some of the better spots in the Ottawa pool.. Here is a map of the ottawa pool. Sorry I couldn't figure out how to post a "live" map for you to zoom in and out on, but here is a snapshot anyway. I've marked out a few of the best bighead spots in that section for you, including a creek that can be loaded with bigheads also.

I found the only big head I've ever seen laying 20ft from the ramp and we were fully lit up with the genny going actually ran it over then turned around and it was still there there coulda been something wrong with it thou

 

Like it was Dead lol... I've been in that river once. Test driving a boat I bought in Bama....I'm planning on being all over it this coming year tho......
