Ok, so this is very cumbersome, but it can be done. However, you can't just browse through the forum. If you are looking for something specific (or a specific post) then Google will be your best friend. I will post up some pics on how to do this after lunch, but basically Google saves old web pages in its 'cache'. If you do a google search, then click the button that says 'cached' on the last line of each result link, then it takes you to a saved page. I will try and work up a photo-tutorial later! All of OBG's wisdom is not lost! I just read through a couple old posts about wiring up 400w HPS.

Here is what your screen will look like after a Google search. You can see what key words I searched at the top.

This shows where I clicked to find more options.

This shows the results of the 'see more'.

And, finally, this shows the old BFC in all of its glory.

Here are a few things to remember: Do not forget to look for the 'cached' button. Not every page is 'cached' I guess. YOU CANNOT BROWSE THE OLD FORUM. If you click any links on the 'cached' version, it will take you to the new site. Also, this will foul you up for threads that have multiple pages, because even clicking the next page button will give you an error. Not as good as having all the old information at your fingertips, but better than nothing!

We still have all the Old data and if I understood alex correctly, if you know the old URL you can still access it. It's just that mysequel can't access it :(

Cached web site

..... basically Google saves old web pages in its 'cache'. If you do a google search, then click the button that says 'cached' on the last line of each result link, then it takes you to a saved page. I will try and work up a photo-tutorial later!............

QUESTION:

I thought Google regularly replaced its old cached version of web site files with current web site content when they make their next scheduled visit to the web site....??

Didn't realize that there was a way to prevent that old content from being replace with new.

Cached Links:

Google takes a snapshot of each page examined as it crawls the web and caches these as a back-up in case the original page is unavailable. If you click on the "Cached" link, you will see the web page as it looked when we last indexed it....
