Thanks deer predator, when you mounted those lights to the side rail did you run the bolt all the way through and put a nut on the bottom?

 

Yea... I used a stainless grade 8 down through the rail to a large stainless washer and a nylon inserted nut along with a lock washer...

Jace, do your lights cover good right by the boat mounted vertical, and not angled down?

 

you don't want to angle them down. Mount them 90 degrees with the water. It will cover the most water, even right next to the boat.

Here are some pics of how I did mine.

I drilled a hole throught the housing and ran a bolt through from the isnide with a big washer on it so I didnt crack the housing. The washer I found even had a neoprene seal on one side so it kind of cushioned the housing.

Not a problem! It's only a 1448, it gets the job done but I still want to get a bigger boat and do another build! I will always keep this one just the way it is for fishing the backwaters on the river but I would love a bigger boat for the other stuff.
