I'm wanting to run 4-400hps off my honda 2000. I've seen where people say you can and can't do this. If I am able to do this how and what ballast do I need? Trying to cut weight from being in the front of boat so I know I need a box but I have no clue on wiring or anything for these lights. What do I need?

A Honda's operating watt range is only 1600w so you would be maxing it out running 4 400's. You ideally only want to use 80% of a generators working load which on the Honda's is 1280w. You're also going to pretty close to maxing out the operating amps as well 13.3a. 4x400w = 1600w / 120v = 13.3a.
According to the chart in post #12 http://bow.fishingcountry.com/forums/showthread.php?606-Let-talk-lights. A 400 hps will continually draw 3.8a which is 3.8*4 = 15.2a. So you will either have a generator which constantly blows fuses or one which will be operating at a max load all the time, which isn't healthy for the generator.
