HPS Trouble (Not the bulb)

Got (6) 400w HPS lights with a remote ballast box. I've got one light that will run for about an hour, shut off, and then relight in about 15 min. Thought the bulb might be going bad and cycling, so I've changed bulbs....Same problem. Swapped capacitors....Same problem. Would the ballast cause it to do this???

Im no lighting expert but, are you running a converter too?

....I have MH's and when i would go to full on my converter one of my lights would do exactly what your HPS is doing. I simply got rid of one of 150 watt halogens at the back of my boat and haven't had a problem since.

No converter. And genny is only at 1/2 load. It's a 5500w and I'm plugged into the 30amp breaker.
I had the same thing happen to my 400s ballast was the problem where did ya get the lights?

Sounds like a bad connection--possibly in the socket??? Common more than likely--
yea i had some screws loose in one of my sockets last year...it drove me crayzz for a long time..it would run fine for a while and then out of no where the lights would cut off...then after a lil while come back on...i changed caps, went through the wires tryin to find a short.....and all it was, was the screws that holds the socket in came loose and was causing a bad connection
Thanks. I'll double check all socket connections.
