Hunt Deck vs. Float Pods

Would it be better to build a hunt deck like Gator Trax builds, or just fab up some float pods. What I'm thinking is that if I build something like a hunt deck, I could run a stick steer, or even console steer motor and have my fan platform all mounted to it so that none of that would be up on the boat. My boat is a 1448, and I'm thinking that if I built a hunt deck that it would be about 3 feet long. That would make my boat a total of 17 feet.

I bought the boat for $50, so anything I do will be much better than having spent significantly more on a larger hull. Also, I just enjoy making something mine by building it how I want.

So let me know yalls opinion. If I do go with pods, I'm considering having 2 legs go to the farthest rear/outboard corner that would go up to the fan mount, and the 2 front legs would go to the rear/outboard corners of the boat.

Anyway, thanks for any input.

What ya going to put on it for a motor the hunt deck is more for mud motor that have reverse so ya dont fill your boat with mud and water backing up if your going to run a out board i would think that your motor is going to be setting to far in the water so run the pods

Just so you know a hunt deck like gator trax and gator tail build is NOT an add on like pods. They are built with the hull and the main longitudinal supports run from the back of the huntdeck to the front so basically the transom of the boat is at the back of the huntdeck and it is made to support the motor. Im not trying to shy you away from building a "huntdeck" but what you are talking about building is just going to be one big pod, which will be fine just be sure it is strong enough to support the weight of the motor.
