Hi, everyone we just wanted to say hello from SC. Still figuring out this new setup and wanted everyone to know if anyone is interested in hunting alligators or bowfishing the waters of SC feel free to contact me. I would also be glad to help anyone with questions they may have about South Carolina.

First occasion was Steve Dye and Ray Fitzgerald had to spend the night in a SC jail because a SC warden didn't think they should be shooting fish on the SC side of the Savannah River with just a GA license. The next day they were released and the charges were later dropped, but that was little consequence after having to spend the night in jail... SOBER

I watched the DNR do the same thing to four guys fishing with out license next to my job site on the Broad River in Columbia. I was trying to leave and asked them if they could move there trucks to out side of lane closure so i could pull barricades to block construction entrance and the officer told me they would be a while cause he was waiting on two of the guys to get cash brought to them or they were going to jail and he would slide barricades back when they left. This just happened a few weeks ago.

sounds like they shake people down.....wonder where the cash "goes"
I figured the DNR officer was doing just that making him some weekend walking around money but now that letshunt is saying that he new some guys that actually got taken to jail for not paying on the spot even when they were fishing legally then this might be some kind of new SCDNR reg.

Its not "New" rule. Michaels story is from many years ago.

By the looks of the four guys that i seen having to pay cash on the spot i would say they were illegal aliens and probably did not have a proper identification so i wonder if that is why they were having to pay on the spot. Sac did you have any warrants when this happened to you? Sounds to me like something other than the carp in the tub smells kind of fishy.
